Happy (super late) Fourth of July first of all!! To celebrate the holiday, my grandparents came to visit my family last week, and to continue our tradition, we ate at Maggiano’s! If you don’t know, Maggiano’s is a super-delicious Italian chain restaurant that is also amazing with food allergies! Every time my family visits, we have great, helpful service and are able to work with the chef(s). The cooks say that their company always strives to be great with allergies, and that definitely shows. At one of the locations we go to, we even personally know the chef, Tim! My tips for eating here would just be to inform your server as soon as they appear and ask them to speak with a chef or manager. In our experience, that person will come in a matter of minutes and answer all of your questions, even letting you read ingredient labels and working with you to find something safe. Once a chef made me a special egg-free meal in a pan because of fryer cross-contamination! This time we ate at Maggiano’s, I was able to have spaghetti (we got to read the noodles’ package) and for the first time ever I could eat…drum roll please….the TABLE BREAD!!!!!!! Yesss!!! You know, those baguette things they put out on the tables with olive oil and vinegar?? Now because of my recent successes doing OIT, they’re safe for me to eat and they're amazing!! To be honest I ate an entire basket of that bread (and didn’t save room for my actual food haha) and it was probably the best part of the meal!!! ...It’s the small things in life, right? :D Maggiano’s strives hard to be good with food allergies, and it definitely shows! Maggiano's is even a big sponsor of Make-A-Wish, and being a Make-A-Wish Kid myself, I really appreciate that. In our experience, every chef is very knowledgable and actually wants to help you, which is huge. This is probably the most consistently allergy-friendly restaurant my family has ever found! Have you ever eaten at Maggiano's, or do you have another allergy-friendly restaurant that you like? Let me know in the comments! Previous Post: Elitch Gardens Review
